Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) has been nominated for 2017 European Enterprise Promotion Awards with "Supporting Entrepreneurship, Skills and Future of Children and Youth Programme"
ISTKA is the regional development agency serving Istanbul since 2008. As an example of an inclusive, bottom-up and tailor-made development approach, ISTKA has been working to
- accelerate sustainable local development
- narrow the development gap within the districts of Istanbul, with a special focus on social groups like youth, women and migrants,
- mobilise local entrepreneurial, creative and innovative potential, and
- improve cooperation among public, private and non-profit stakeholders.
ISTKA views development as a holistic concept with its economic and social dimensions, and reflects its focus areas of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation as horizontal themes to all its activities.
ISTKA has implemented 35 Financial Support Programmes between 2010-2017 in several fields of economic and social development and has supported more than 700 projects in total.
“Supporting Entrepreneurship, Skills and Future of Children and Youth Programme” has been designed and implemented by ISTKA between 2012-2015.
